The Miami HEAT extended their winning streak to four games with a 110-88 victory over the Detroit Pistons. The HEAT used a huge second quarter run to pull away and never looked back in the second half. The HEAT hit the road for a four-game trip, starting Sunday in Boston against the Celtics.

Impact Performance of the Night: Dwyane Wade continued his hot streak with 29 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Wade shot 60 percent from the floor, mixing in an array of dunks, acrobatic layups and jumpers. He controlled the second quarter, exploding for 17 points. A close second goes to the fan who drained a halfcourt hook shot in between the third and fourth quarters

The Deciding Run: The Pistons lead the HEAT 43-34 four minutes into the second quarter. From that point, Wade and the HEAT exploded for a 26-4 run. The HEAT turned the nine point deficit into a nine point lead by the half and never looked back.

Play of the Game: Dwyane Wade just missed a couple of huge dunks throughout the game. In the fourth quarter, he finally connected on an explosive putback dunk that got the fans on their feet. Wade and LeBron James combined for a number of other highlight plays.

Efficiency Rating: Offensive Efficiency: 122.1; Defensive Efficiency: 98.7

Trend to Watch: In that second quarter, the HEAT forced live ball changes of possession on 24 percent of Pistons possessions. It’s not a coincidence that those changes of possession coincided with the huge HEAT run. Over the last10 games or so, the HEAT have been very active on the defensive end. Their ability to disrupt opponents and get easy baskets on the other end off of run outs is extremely important to the HEAT’s long-term success.

The Takeaway: After an up and down first quarter, the HEAT played an almost flawless game. The team got high percentage shots all game, defended well and forced a bunch of turnovers. It’s a good win against a Pistons team that gave the HEAT trouble earlier in the season.

Notes: LeBron James finished with 23 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Chris Bosh added 14 points and seven rebounds. The HEAT bench combined for 32 points. Jarvis Varnado and Dexter Pittman were inactive.

When miami is at his best they are playing 3-D and no other team can compete with them in that! Dunking, Defending and Dominating!

Only caught some of the 2nd quarter before I went out but Wade looked awesome in that time. Quickly reminding me why he's my favorite player.

They schooled the Pistons after they were warmed up. Birdman was impressive and based on his response to getting thrown into the inferno, he deserves to get in the rotation with Joel and UD

That was an awesome win, man holy crap!

Please, post the signature one more time...

Good win,but what would let us know that MIAMI has shifted gears is if they can make through this four game road trip unscathed. Boston,Brooklyn,Indiana, and Toronto, if MIAMI can those wins, that'll be impressive. We'll see...TEAM HEAT since '88!

Best game I've seen so far, since Miami won the championship!
