    2018 NBA Playoffs

A team this stacked should be able to get by without Iggy. For as great as they've been they been pretty lucky with opposing teams injury. The 1st title, no love or Kyrie. 2nd title, who knows how it plays out if Kawhi stays healthy. And they may have lucked out again with CP3 injury.

    The Official Hassan Whiteside Thread

Its not hate. I think Hassan is a fun dude but he's not heat material. Its been 4 years and still he hasn't matured. And after having a horrible post season, he's out here taking lowkey shots at the coach. If he's doing this publicly, I wonder what Spo had to deal with. I can't blame Spo for being done with him, and some of us right to be done with him as well. I'd rather roll with a young mature hardworking center in Bam who cares more about winning than stats.

Lol. Hassan is an idiot. Someone in his camp needs to tell him taking shots low-key at SPO won't help situation. If he wants to get traded he's scaring of suitors. If he stays pissing on the coach ain't gonna earn more mins.

Before Kerr took over they won 51 games and lost in the 1st round. After he took 67 wings and won a ring. Kerr had a big impact on them being a championship team. Mark Jackson was an ok coach but he didn't maximize the warriors talent the way Kerr did. Much of their offensive identity of a 3 point fast runing team was formed during Kerr tenure not Mark Jackson. Mark Jackson was like Scott Brooks. He'll get the players to play hard and with talent will win a lot games but doesn't have an offensive system you can point to and won't take them to the next level.

Good point. That's why it makes sense to keep our young players and go all in 2020/2021 when the GSW/Lebron era is coming to a close. On OKC, they royalled screwed up a great opportunity. They could have been an even better team than GSW is right now. The Harden trade and their loyalty to their coaches cost them. That team after the finals lost to Heat needed an elite coach to piece together. Ironically GSW coaching change of Steve Kerr was the catalyst that started their championship run. Feels like Sixers are on same crossroads. It would be cruel but moving from Brett Brown might be what's needed for them to take next step

The Magic are horribly run. Their are other teams like Potland, GSW, OKC, Utah who have consistently gotten good players through the draft. Its not because they lucked out. They have great scouting and are great at developing young players. The draft works if you scout well and have a great coaching organization.

I can totally see Thibs making a dumb trade for Kat in favor of a more defensive minded center. I wouldn't be shocked to see a De'andre or Drummonds for KAT trade. I would try Hassan + a pick/young player and see if he bites. I doubt Thibs would do since Hassan had such a bad playoffs.

I wouldn't do this. Drummond isn't that much of an improvement over Hassan. He has the same limitations. Can't shoot, no post up game and will have trouble defending small ball lineups against good offensive teams. I don't like Hassan attitude and I feel if he sticks around he's going to start causing problems. I would move him for whatever but I am not in favor of attaching any of our assets to move him unless we get a true all star in return. I like Bam's potential and his contract will make it easier to add star FA in 2021 when we'll have cap space.

    2017-2018 NBA Season

Anyone watching the draft lottery? The cavs are gonna get another number 1 pick aren't they

    2017-2018 NBA Season

Its too early to say. Depends on how much he improves offensively. Reminds a bit of pre Lebron Heat (but not as a good) a player who relies a lot on his athleticism. I know he averaged 27 point last season but he's guardable but he has a lot holes in his game. He needs to get a jumper and a post game if he's going to take the next step. You could see against Boston how limited he was when Boston was packing the paint. And he needs a real NBA coach for once. Its a joke the type of coaching he's had in Milwauke

Lol Harden 41 points and they still lost. This is going to be a short series. Honestly what's the point of playoffs. Unless someoe gets injured GSW are gonna coast to another title.

If the cost was JJ and TJ. I would sign him and buy him out. I don't like his fit here. But as you said, his contract will give us flexibility.

My point on Hassan was he had 4 years to change his attitude and he hasn't. What's more concerning than his play in the playoffs is what he's doing in the offseason. Liking tweets of him being traded and tweet blaming Spo for his play. That is hugely disrespectful to the organization. This is a guy who doesn't see himself as the problem and wants out of here. I can see this situation becoming more toxic next season if he doesn't get his way. It's better for the team as a whole if we get rid of this distraction ahead of time. We were good without Hassan, so I don't think moving him will not hurt us that much. When I said taking a step back I was referring to the case where Goran is gone. I think early on we'd struggle as guys like Winslow & J Rich get more comfortable as playmakers. And even if we do take a step back I don't think that's a big deal. We should go to next season with development as our number 1 priority. If we make playoffs great if not we get a good pick.

These articles are from last season (2016-2018) on Hassan's effort. http://heatzone.blog.mypalmbeachpost.com/2017/02/14/hassan-whiteside-and-miami-heat-move-past-frustration-from-mondays-loss-to-magic/ http://larrybrownsports.com/basketball/erik-spoelstra-benching-hassan-whiteside-competitors-only/337925 I can find more from that season and the season before. Every season his effort level and attitude has been an issue. We can't use injuries an excuse. He was healthy enough against Sixers but gave us absolutely nothing. He didn't even try. Then he goes and whines about touches. To make it worse, once season is over he's on social media liking tweets of how it all Spo fault and getting traded. Its been 4 years and he hasnt gotten it yet. I'm not counting on him getting it next year either. I'll roll with Bam as our center which is his best position. He'll gave games where he'll struggle but he'll learn from it because he gives a 100 % every time. If we miss playoffs because of Bam, J Rich and Winslow learning curve so be it. The goal is by 2020 we have assets to get a star so we can attract other stars in FA or develop one in house.
