The Miami HEAT continue their road trip in Detroit as they take on the Detroit Pistons. The HEAT are 20-6 and have the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are 9-22. Tip off is set for 7:30 PM. Coverage starts on Sun Sports at 7 PM

1. With no Dwyane Wade tonight and Ray Allen possibly out as well, who steps into the starting lineup?

Couper Moorhead: Considering how the minutes played out against Charlotte with Allen sitting with a shoulder injury, it’s probably James Jones. Inserting Jones doesn’t really upset the rest of the rotation, similar to how the Clippers have used Willie Green in the absence of Chauncey Billups. It would be fun to experiment with a backcourt of Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole, but there is very little reason to do so, even on a back-to-back in January.

Danny Martinez: I think Mike Miller could get the nod. He started a couple of games that Wade missed earlier in the season. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s James Jones though, if both Wade and Allen are out. Coach Spoelstra likes to maintain the bench layers. With Allen out, Miller has been the first guard off the bench. If he wants to keep that going, Jones gets the call.

2. Is Greg Monroe the “Next” Chris Bosh, so to speak?

Couper: Monroe has a ways to go as a shooter – he’s below 30 percent from mid-range so far this season while taking more than two per game – but he shares many of the same ball skills of Bosh, including a devastating face-up game from the elbow, an improving up fake and a nice passing touch. It’s a shame the Pistons don’t have more shooters and thus better spacing for Monroe to operate in, as he rarely takes a dribble without three bodies staring at him from the paint. It might not be this year or next, but there will come a time when the basketball world collectively starts to take notice of Monroe and just how good he is.

Danny: Monroe’s numbers have dropped a little this season, but he’s still extremely skilled for a big man. There are similarities between the two, but I wouldn’t rush to call Monroe the “Next” Bosh. There’s no sense in putting him into a box this early in his career.

Cosidering MIAMI plays suffocating defense and their shooters are hitting shots at a high clip, the HEAT should come out victorious in the abscence of WADE and ALLEN...TEAM HEAT since '88!

This game will have a huge affect on the teams legacy. This is a must win game. Screw the Finals, this is the real championship game. If we don't win this game our legacys are ruined and we might as well blow it up and cut the big 3.

The ESPN comments for this game are so funny. Then again, most of them usually are.
