The Miami HEAT got back to their winning ways Wednesday night with a 95-72 victory over the Golden State Warriors. The HEAT locked the Warriors offense down all night. Tomorrow night the HEAT finish their six-game road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Impact Performance of the Night: In just 31 minutes of action, LeBron James scored 25 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed seven rebounds. He was making jumpers and finishing alley oops. All in all, a masterful performance.

The Deciding Run: The HEAT led by 14 at the half, a large lead, but certainly not insurmountable. To start the second half, they opened on a 13-0 run and that pretty much shut the door for the night. Mario Chalmers drained three three-pointers during the stretch, all assisted by LeBron James.

Play of the Game: There were alley oops and crazy and-ones, but there were two plays that deserve special mention tonight. LeBron James’ assist to Dwyane Wade (for a dunk) halfway through the third quarter gave James 5,000 assists for his career. Then, with 2:45 left in the first half, James beat David Lee off the bounce, pulled up and calmly hit a jumper, giving him 20,001 points for his career. James became the youngest player and eighth fastest to ever reach the 20,000 point milestone.

Efficiency Rating: Offensive Efficiency: 94.0; Defensive Efficiency: 76.6

Trend to Watch: That defense we saw early in the road trip came back. The HEAT came out hot on the defensive end, causing all kinds of trouble for the Warriors. Of the Warriors’ first 49 possessions, 10 resulted in live ball changes of possession for the HEAT, an extremely high number. Even in the losses to Portland and Indiana, the HEAT defense performed extremely well. As the defense continues to tighten, the HEAT will see more of these games.

The Takeaway: It’s hard to bounce back better than that. The HEAT played exceptional on both ends of the floor and took control of the game early in the third quarter. The offense was generating open looks from high-value spots on the floor and the defense was causing turnovers and blocking shots at an alarming rate. The big lead allowed Coach Erik Spoelstra to rest the HEAT starters, with none playing more than 31 minutes. With a game coming up tomorrow, that could prove to be very beneficial.

Notes: Dwyane Wade filled the stat sheet with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block. Mario Chalmers added 15 points. Chris Bosh scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds. Shane Battier returned from injury. Dexter Pittman and Josh Harrellson were inactive.
